Jason Hates It! IPA

Encompassing the heart of a West Coast IPA with the soul of an East Coast IPA, Jason Hates It! IPA is bursting with fruity hop character and balanced by a smooth, understated malt profile.

Brewed with a blend of New World hops, this American IPA delivers big notes of juicy pineapple, tangerine, orange and lemon rind, with a subtle touch of white pine. A light bitterness, medium mouthfeel, and fruit-forward finish give this IPA a balanced sweetness that lets the hops shine without becoming overwhelming.

The beer started as a way for our brewer to prove a point. At the time, Aldus didn't make an IPA, and upper management—Jason—had no interest in producing one. Eventually, our brewer got the green light to brew an IPA, and after the first sip, he was never doubted again. Today, Jason Hates It! IPA remains a favorite example of what happens when a brewer gets to make his case—one pint at a time.

Aroma: Fresh, juicy pineapple with bright orange and lemon rind notes, followed by a subtle white pine character.

Flavor & Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and fruit-forward with light bitterness. Citrus and pine flavors come through alongside a tropical fruit character that provides a pleasant, balanced sweetness. The finish is smooth and refreshing.

Brewers' Notes: A blend of New World hops brings huge notes of pineapple, white pine, and tangerine. We keep the malt profile fairly muted so the hops can truly shine, complemented by an estery ale yeast that adds to the beer's fruity character.
